THE TEACHER
Originally from Perth Australia, Sharon Davis is internationally known for her distinctive and feminine style in Lindy Hop, 1920s Charleston, Blues and Burlesque. Sharon is now based in London, and travels the world performing and teaching with her dance partner Juan Villafañe from Argentina. She holds 1st place titles at the International Lindy Hop Championships, Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, National Jitterbug Championships, Canadian Swing Championships, and has claimed numerous other awards internationally. As an instructor and a DJ, she is known for her dedication to the history of vernacular jazz dances and the music they evolved to. With her bright and bubbly personality, Sharon’s teaching style is energetic, creative and fun. She is also the founder of the annual European Swing Dance Championships. THE WORKSHOP
This is not exactly a workshop with frills... It's very simple - 9 hours of intensive class over the weekend (3 x 1.5 hours each day). The class schedule/topics/location will be set closer to the date.
Date: 7th and 8th December 2013
Schedule: approximately 11.00 - 17.15 with lunch and breaks each day.
Venue: St. Kevin's Community Centre, Bloomfield Avenue, Dublin 8
Cost: €90 (for 9h of class + party)

- not as probably but ever more wishfully ... a terribly relaxed, extremely friendly, very late-night and oh-la-la sizzlin' hot ***EUROSOLO JAZZ CONTEST*** may take place... The title alludes not to any notions of internationality, but rather a certain reasonably priced menu with which you may be familiar... Hopefuls pay €1 on the night to enter and the winner goes home with a pocket jangling full with the sound of glory! And because I'm lovin' it, we may even go so far as to have a ***MC AND JILL***... ;)
